Stewarts appoints new IT technician

Stewarts Garden Centres has appointed Chris Wentworth-Brown as an addition to its technical team.

Chris, 23, who has the title of IT technician, will assist the three garden centres and associated businesses using his Foundation Science Degree gained at Bournemouth University.

Stewarts retail and marketing director Terry Head says that Chris will be able to ensure that the day to day running of the centres will be supported with a full functioning EPS and stock system, as well as supporting the technical issues that challenge online sales and the intercommunication between the team of 258 full and part time personnel.

Terry added: “We are impressed with Chris as he is actually keen to read technical manuals of the equipment we own!  His patience to deal with less computer savvy staff and the technology that helps keep the business efficient is testament to his natural determination to help us help our customers.”

The Stewarts family business can be traced back to 1742. Stewarts created the earliest dedicated garden centre opened in Ferndown, Dorset in 1955 before opening the UK’s first out of town centre near Christchurch in 1961.
