RYOBI goes CarbonNeutral®

New for 2010, Ryobi has unveiled a wide range of petrol powered garden products which have been awarded the CarbonNeutral® usage certification.  Giving peace of mind to gardeners with an environmental conscience, Ryobi is able to offset the carbon emissions generated by petrol products by investing in CO² saving projects such as wind farms, hydro power, methane capture and solar power.

From line trimmers and brush cutters to chainsaws and blower vacs, Ryobi has a CarbonNeutral® usage certified product for a wide range of gardening tasks.

Adam Morley, Director of Marketing for TTI, commented: “At Ryobi we are committed to being environmentally responsible and want to support our customers in doing their bit to reduce carbon emissions.  By contributing to high quality renewable energy projects such as wind farms, hydro and solar power, through the purchase of carbon credits, we are able to provide customers with CarbonNeutral® product options.”

To achieve the CarbonNeutral® usage certification the CO2 emissions generated during tool usage are calculated by determining the average usage time and product life expectancy.  Carbon credits are then purchased to counter balance the carbon emissions generated to net zero, resulting in CarbonNeutral® usage certification.

The CarbonNeutral® usage certification can be found on a wide range of Ryobi Power Tools, which are available nationwide at all good DIY stockists, including B&Q, or your local trade counter.  To find your nearest Ryobi stockist, visit www.ryobitools.co.uk.
