Scotts Miracle Gro has announced the appointment of Mark Portman to the role of Scotts (UK) general manager.
He replaces Sheila Hill, who left the business in February.
Mark joins from Gardman, where he was group sales director. Prior to that role, he spent more than seven years Henkel, where he was general manager for the UK, Ireland & Nordics.
Previously, he performed a series of increasingly senior sales roles at Premier Foods where he was for eight years, before which he was at New Covent Garden Soup.
Scotts chief executive Karl Kahofer commented: “I am delighted to welcome Mark to our Company. He brings a wealth of relevant experience, an impressive track record of delivering results and a demonstrated focus on building company culture. His category experience with Gardman and his experience of working with our largest UK customers will also stand him in good stead. He will make a big difference to our UK business. Mark will join us at the latest beginning of April and until then the UK team will continue to report to Ted Linehan on an interim basis.”
