New office for G Plants sparks further expansion plans

Directors WarehouseG Plants – one of the UK’s most innovative suppliers of quality seeds, bulbs, garden ornaments and giftware – has kicked started the 2015 season in style with the move into a 50,000sq ft facility. This new office space and warehousing not only features a stunning new showroom but will also sees G Plants significantly increase capacities and offer improved customer service levels to retailers.
Located in Blackburn, the new office facility marks the start of an exciting period of expansion for the company.  Following a year in which G Plants saw retail presence and profits rise, the company is now in a position to move the business to the next level.  An ongoing £600,000 investment plan will see production levels increase, delivery times improve, and the sales team expand to incorporate wider UK coverage.

Alex Reihl, director of G Plants, said: “The last 12 months has been a period of significant growth for our business, however this is only the start of our long-term vision for G Plants. Our new office facility is reflective of our development goals in that we are able to immediately increase capacity and offer improved customer service levels, whilst also providing us with the room to grow even further as we carry out the next steps in our plans. It is incredibly exciting to be stood on the precipice of our next chapter, and hope that our customers – both new and old – are ready to join us on this exciting journey.”

In addition to the new office facility, which will see production levels peak at 50,000 kilos of grass seed per day, and deliveries expand to 10 trailers per day thanks to the five new loading bays, G Plants has also confirmed it has also benefitted from a UKTI grant, which will enable the company to create 10 new jobs.

Alex added: “Growing our team is a key priority at present. We are currently looking to recruit sales personnel to help increase our coverage across the UK, with a particular focus on the south-west, the Midlands, the north and Scotland. We are interested in hearing from anyone who wants to join our team, and to help us develop our offering further in 2015 and beyond.”

With the peak trading season upon us G Plants is also reminding retailers that the company offers in excess of 100 product lines, with over half of these featuring new designs and varieties. With on-site packaging and warehousing, G Plants prides itself on its product availability, meaning it is still possible for retailers to secure G Plants stock ahead of the summer months.

Finally, Alex confirmed some exciting plans for G Plants’ flower, vegetable and grass seeds. Following a successful year of trials at Myerscough College – a specialist agricultural college based in Lancashire – G Plants has launched several new varieties for the 2015 season. A special tasting day will shortly be held to help retailers appreciate the stunning flavours that G Plants offers. Additionally the Myerscough trials will continue into 2016, meaning the company will be best placed to deliver the best possible seeds for the 2016/2017 season.
