New non-executive director for Notcutts

Notcutts Group has announced the appointment of Bridget McIntyre as non-executive director and chair designate with effect from 1 January 2020. McIntyre will replace outgoing chairman, Nicky Dulieu, with effect from 1 March 2020.

McIntyre currently sits on the boards of Adnams and Jarrolds, both family businesses with a significant retail component. After an extremely successful executive career working in a variety of industries, from publishing to car manufacturing culminating in financial services with Aviva and RSA Insurance, she stepped back from London and committed herself to Suffolk.

In 2009, she set up the award-winning social enterprise Dream On, an innovative business model which funds access programmes to support women’s development, funded through corporate coaching and a clothes shop. This subsequently led to the creation of the Blossom Charity to support Dream On in 2014 and most recently, Mission Possible, which supports men to be their very best too.

Caroline Notcutt, vice chairman commented: “We are delighted to welcome Bridget to our family business at such a flourishing time for our garden centre customers and I am very much looking forward to working closely with her.”

McIntyre added: “Living in Suffolk, I have always been a customer of and admired Notcutts. I am delighted to be able to join the Board and work with the team of this great family business.”
