The 89 full and part time staff at the Haskins Snowhill Garden Centre near East Grinstead have a new General Manager. David Lilly from Caterham has over 33 years’ experience in retail having started with Sainsburys as a Saturday worker at the age of 16, and became Manager of several Homebase stores within the M25. He admits that unlike his team, his horticultural knowledge is basic but his sincere love of gardening ensures a natural interest in wide range of plants and products.
Julian Winfield, Chief Executive of the £31 million turnover Haskins Garden Centres group, said that he was delighted that Dave has accepted the position.
“David has both the experience and the integrity to ensure that we maintain high standards of service at Snowhill, a centre we have owned since 2003,” said Julian Winfield. “We are delighted to welcome him to the management team.”
