Greenfingers raises more than £2,300 from ‘barrows of booze’

Greenfingers raised the funds during GLEE through sales of raffle tickets to win three trollies full of alcohol.

Sarah Lioveri, Charity Manager for Greenfingers, said: “Our Barrows of Booze raffle was very successful and we are delighted that we have raised a total of £2,327.40. The money will be used to help us build magical gardens for children with life-limiting illnesses in children’s hospices across the UK. We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Woodlodge Products for kindly sponsoring the raffle and donating the alcohol and the trollies. They even painted the trollies pink especially for the event.”

One trolley was raffled off on Monday, September 17 and two on Tuesday, September 18 at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham.

Carol Paris, President of the Horticultural Trades Association, picked the first raffle winner on Monday and the winning ticket belonged to Sunny Sharma, Managing Director of Pet Brands.

Richard Jackson, Founder of Greenfingers, randomly picked Robert Stubbs from Brigg Garden Centre as the second winner on Tuesday.

Nick Davidson, GLEE Show Director, picked the ticket belonging to Mark Dedman, Sales Director of Garland Products, as the third winner.

Sarah continued: “Events such as GLEE are hugely important to help spread the word about the work we do and raise some vital funds. We’d like to thank everyone that supported us by buying a ticket for the raffle.”
