Going green in the garden will no longer cost the earth – thanks to a new company offering an environmentally friendly solution to wood bark.
A multi-million pound deal has been struck to form ‘Re-Bound’ – the largest manufacturer of recycled rubber gardening and playground products in the UK.
The company, which turns car tyres into ‘bark chippings’ to help suppress weed growth and create attractive borders, says it will drive down the cost of using eco-friendly products in the garden.
“Most people say they don’t want to use wood bark in their gardens, but don’t have an alternative that is cost effective,” said Re-Bound Director Bob Jones.
“In the past rubber bark has been viewed as a ‘high end’ expensive product by gardeners.”

- Re-Bound Rubber Bark – a garden and play surface in a range of colours to create attractive borders, pathways and play areas.
- Re-Bound rubber crumb – soil improver for lawns and turf.
