GardenWorld trip to see national plant collections

Sanders GardenWorld in Brent Knoll is offering people the chance to visit the gardens near Barnstaple, accompanied by a member of its horticultural team, on Monday, September 13.

Peter Burks, General Manager of Sanders GardenWorld, said: “Within the gardens there are many collections of plants, as well as three lakes. There are more than eight hundred different camellia cultivars. Betula, eucryphia, eucalyptus, rhododendron, hosta and iris are also strongly represented in the garden.

“There are three National Collections of Astilbes, Tulbaghia and Japanese Iris, which are looked after in association with The National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens.”

The coach will leave Sanders GardenWorld at approximately 10am on Monday, September 13 and return at around 4.45pm.

Tickets, which can be purchased at the garden centre’s reception, cost £16 per person. Refreshments including lunch are not included in the price. Sturdy footwear and suitable clothing for all weathers is advisable.
