Forest Garden enjoys thriving Glee 2013 at the ‘heart of the industry’

In a bold move, Forest relocated to the heart of Hall 5 in order to better reflect its ever-growing decorative garden product portfolio.  Moving out of its traditional ‘landscaping’ location helped to showcase its latest ranges to a much wider audience.  The response was incredibly positive, as Forest’s head of marketing, Vicky Nuttall explains.  She said: “Our product portfolio has diversified significantly in the last few years, meaning we now provide retailers even more profit potential than ever before.  Our offering now covers everything from core fencing and landscaping products, to a wide range of decorative garden products.  Throughout the show we were inundated with positive feedback, and also took a significant number of orders from a variety of retailers, including independent garden centres, builders’ merchants, landscapers and key multiples. This positive response will help us to further shape both our product and commercial ranges during the year ahead.”

Looking to 2014, Forest is poised to roll out its new ‘Great prices, everyday’ policy, as introduced at Glee.  Featuring competitive pricing solutions, this new structure will be supported with a selection of new merchandising and display solutions, helping to further strengthen the company’s market-leading offering.

Vicky Nuttall added: “Our ultimate aim is always to offer something that helps drive growth for our customers.  The feedback received at Glee 2013 shows us that we’re certainly on the right track to deliver this.”

New products from Forest Garden

At Glee Forest Garden launched a selection of products designed specifically to get children gardening.  The ‘Junior’ range features a rectangular and square table planter – the latter doubling as a raised-height sandpit – plus a slotted, raised bed that is perfect for creating a Grow Your Own (GYO) corner at home. Each planter also comes ready-painted in either red or blue, creating an eye-catching addition to any garden.

The new Tall Wall Greenhouse is another ideal solution for consumers wanting to extend their GYO experience.  With the original model being a proven best-seller throughout the 2013 season, this new, larger size is sure to repeat this success, thanks to its ability to accommodate taller plants with the introduction of two heights of adjustable shelving.

Forest also used Glee to showcase two new additions to its outdoor living portfolio – the Venetian Corner Arbour, and the Venetian Pavilion.  Both introductions feature a more contemporary style than existing designs, thanks to the Venetian style slatted roof.  The Corner Arbour can seat up to four people, and will add interest to a quiet corner of any garden, whilst the Pavilion offers complete flexibility as it can be purchased with or without the decking.

Finally, in a move to further demonstrate its diversification into more contemporary styling, Forest also launched a selection of tables and benches that are perfectly designed for al fresco dining.  The Sleeper Bench is, as the name suggests, made from landscaping sleepers and is available in 1.2m and 1.8m sizes.  A complementary Refectory Table has also been created for the 2014 season, also available in two sizes.
