Briers announces move to new warehouse

Garden glove supplier Briers has announced that following several years of ‘substantial’ growth, the company has made the difficult decision to relocate its warehousing to premises in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. The new site will provide the business with the necessary capacity for the continued growth of the brand, and for its new range developments.

2016_Briers_catalogue_front page-01With effect from June 30 2016, the warehousing facilities in Somerset will close and despatching will be from the new site. No disruption to normal service is expected, Briers adds. Head office functions will continue in Wincanton and will be relocated to different offices within the town.

New job opportunities will be created in Kidderminster, the company notes. While current warehouse colleagues are aware it may be necessary to make redundancies, Briers is exploring ways of avoiding this and minimising the number of employees affected by this decision.

Briers added that it would like to thank all of its colleagues for their ongoing professionalism and support during the period of transition to a new facility that will meet the demands of the business going forward.
